Bringing Industry Leaders Together to Strengthen Safety Culture and Share Real-World Solutions
Safety Consultants USA is proud to support the 2nd Annual Safety Champions Conference & Vendor Showcase, a premier event that unites construction professionals, safety leaders, and industry innovators around a shared mission: ensuring every worker goes home safe.
This one-day conference, held on May 28, 2026, will feature a keynote address, expert presentations on timely topics, safety training sessions, and a vendor showcase. The event’s purpose is to feature practical insights into today’s most pressing safety challenges—alongside opportunities to explore emerging technologies and network with peers across the industry.
According to Chris Blair, Regional Manager for Safety Consultants USA and a volunteer member of the ABC Central Florida Safety Council, one of the most critical needs in construction today is to build a strong, connected safety community.
“Safety professionals don’t often get the chance to come together and support each other,” he said. “This conference creates that space—where we can share experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen how we approach safety across the field.”
While advancements like artificial intelligence continue to generate interest, the reality on construction sites remains grounded in human behavior and decision-making.
“Technology has its place, especially in planning and management,” he noted. “But on the jobsite, you still need people doing the work. Safety ultimately comes down to training, reinforcement, and making the right choices in the moment.”
The conference also addresses one of the industry’s ongoing challenges: maintaining a consistent safety culture across decentralized, ever-changing job sites. With crews often working in different environments and conditions, reinforcing safe behaviors is essential.
“Without consistent supervision, people may take shortcuts to save time,” he explained. “That’s why training and accountability are so important. Safety isn’t just a requirement—it’s a mindset that has to be reinforced every day.”
In addition to educational sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a vendor showcase featuring innovative safety products and solutions. These exhibits provide a hands-on look at tools designed to improve efficiency, compliance, and worker protection.
A highlight of the event will be the recognition of outstanding safety achievements. Organizers emphasize that these awards play a critical role in reinforcing positive behaviors across the industry.
“When safety programs are working well, they often go unnoticed,” Blair said. “Recognizing those efforts helps prevent complacency and reminds everyone that safety impacts the entire organization—from the field to the office.”
With rapid growth across Florida driving increased demand for construction, infrastructure, and development, the need for strong safety practices has never been greater. The conference serves as a timely platform for collaboration, innovation, and shared learning.
