Safety Consultants USA is pleased to announce Mary Catherine McLeod is a graduate of the ABC of Georgia 2024 Future Leaders
Kate Badey, Safety Consultants USA President, and CEO nominated Mary Catherine McLeod as one of the ABC of Georgia 2024 Future Leaders. She was selected to be among about 55 other construction professionals to complete a nine-month leadership program, which she successfully completed in November 2024.
Through monthly leadership classes and peer interaction, the Future Leaders program helps develop individuals in leadership, communication, team building, decision-making, conflict resolution, people skills, and other key competencies. This program also serves as an opportunity for future leaders to make connections with other rising leaders in the construction industry.
“The most challenging part of the program was working through the self-analysis to figure out where I could best experience growth,” said Mary Catherine. “One major takeaway was recognizing how my brain works versus how others processed information and circumstances.”
Mary Catherine has already put her training into action. For example, when making decisions with clients, she has learned how to consider their viewpoints to best support them and explain how they can collaborate to reflect their business leadership.
Mary Catherine shared three areas in training that challenged her to think outside the box and open up to learning about other ways of communicating and collaborating. She explained, “Being able to confidently make decisions based on my knowledge and experience while discerning input from others is a hallmark of being a good leader. Developing this strength will allow me to make the best decisions for the parties involved.” She further added, “Everyone sees the world differently. How they navigate their situations will vary depending on their unique experiences. And I learned the importance of surrounding myself with people who challenge me as a leader but still encourage me to strive for excellence continually.”
When asked why she nominated Mary Catherine, Kate stated, “Since joining Safety Consultants USA, Mary Catherine expressed her interest and demonstrated her ability to succeed in a leadership role in our organization. Knowing that she desires to position herself to one day lead our company, it was essential to invest in her professional development early on. Mary Catherine has demonstrated her ability to collaborate well with her peers and take on additional responsibilities, positioning herself to understand the unique aspects of our business. This opportunity to learn from others in the construction industry will set her apart no matter which clients she serves.”
